MSU MAET Showcase
This page is dedicated to showcase the work completed during my coursework to obtain a Master of Arts Degree in Education Technology from Michigan State University. To view the courses I have taken throughout my program, please visit the Michigan State MSU Coursework Page. This showcase page is organized to first present some of the numerous websites created throughout my journey, followed by a selection of Multimedia Resources, and concluding with a sampling of the Visual Creations created as part of course assignments. There is a brief description of each of the websites, resources and creations. Clicking on the screenshot image of the websites will direct you to explore each of the websites and please feel free to click play to watch the multimedia resources.

Websites
This wordpress portfolio was created in my first summer cohort program of MAET and extends into my second summer cohort. The portfolio houses the work of my earlier MAET career.
The Dream It Project was a technology based proposal for transformative learning within the context of our own educational settings. This project is designed integrate all the different components and concepts discussed during the summer cohort.
This website was created for CEP 820, a course about teaching students online. This website is a model for how I would take a course I am already teaching and teach it online. I chose to demonstrate how I might teach Psychology as a hybrid course. I have used this to create and implement a true hybrid course model in our school.

This website was created for a project seeking to document student understanding of topics chosen by our group in order to understand how people understand. The intention was to see how students prior knowledge and understanding plays into their learning and understanding. This project aimed to observe how people understand.
This website was created as one of the final CEP 815 projects with our groups. The task was to develop a website on an assigned topic as "experts" on the topic. We were to include a summary page introducing the topic, addressing the issue and discussing the broader implications of the topic. We were also to include an annotated list of key quality online resources.
One of our first group assignments as newbies to the MAET program was to create a wiki and learn about SIGs. We were to create our own Special Interest Group based on our own interests. The wiki explains what flipping is along with its benefits.

Multimedia Resources
My first ever technology project was my "This I Believe" video created to showcase my education philosophy based on the images taken in and around Michigan State University. This project has influenced a project I created for my students.
This "Three Words to the World" assignment was inspired by a segment that ABC news featured. The task was communicate three words that we wanted to share with the world about education and present it in a create way without sound. I chose the words "discovering" "endless" and "possibilities" as those are the words I believe in and use to develop not only my curriculum and culture of the classroom, but who I am as a teacher, a mentor, and a person. These are the words I would like for my students to adopt as well.

First of two videos created for the CEP 800 3x3x3 project where groups were assigned two chapters of Daniel T. Willingham’s book Why Students Don’t Like School and asked to create a short instructional video following the 3 x 3 x 3 module – you have 3 minutes to provide 3 key ideas and 3 practical implications.

Visual Creations
We were asked to create a visual poster paired with a sentence about how we would like to remembered for as educational professionals. My sentence reads: "Se walked with us, shaped our minds, helped us dream, connected us to our paths, and continues to journey with us into our future."
Creating inspirational posters is an area I enjoy. I create posters and post them in my classroom. This particular poster uses the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson that states "Curiosity is lying in wait for eery secret". It is posted during the Transcendentalism Unit and students use it as a model for something they have to create from another quote they choose.
High school students can get too serious, too dramatic, or too negative. I use this poster during those times to remind them to have fun, to enjoy the process, and to be positive. This works in conjunction to the classroom rule that states "We will not be limited by the word cannot."
This is by far one of my favorite posters. I tell my students that our classroom, our school, and our community are all members of a greater Personal Learning Network and that we must use our resources to grow as individuals as well as a community. Margaret Mead's quote "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has" has inspired me and my hope is that it continues to inspire my students and our community.
