CSHS iRead 2012-2013
| Watch the video and listen to what students are saying about their reading lives. This project led me to tackle the great big task of figuring out how to do the same thing for writing. In reflecting on my practices to grow readers, I realized that much of my emphasis was on culture and environment. I created a welcoming environment centered around books, the culture of our community was based on what we were reading, books of all levels and interests were readily accessible, and I got to know my students well enough to recommend stacks of books to them. |
